Goodreads Synopsis: Kendra can't stand Wade. The feeling is mutual. Until someone changes the rules... Wade is the only Ford boy who doesn't inherit his share of the Ford empire until certain conditions are met. He hated his father, was abandoned by his mother, and that's made for one hell of a rebel. He belts out lyrics like his life depends on it. But he's stuck playing at shabby bars in questionable towns until the band makes one dramatic change. After failing the bar exam, Kendra MacGregor is stuck preparing pro bono cases for an unforgiving law firm. Her life is a pile of dung, and it seems to be getting worse by the minute. Just when she thinks it couldn't get any worse, the egomaniac musician she had a fight with during her best friend's bachelorette...is now her new client. Wade and Kendra despise each other and it only gets worse. Until she discovers that Wade is being snowed over by someone he trusts...but how can she tell him when he can't stand her? https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/51108556-enter-at-your-own-risk What a great story! I loved the character development shown, as we gradually learned more about each character through multiple perspectives. The contrasting personalities of the two main characters, with the musician and the lawyer, was an intriguing combination of personality traits. The plot was filled with suspense, passion, and heart-warming moments. There were a number of wording issues here and there that I noticed. There was also one instance where the incorrect name was used. These errors disrupted the flow of my reading, however, they did not detract from the excellent story. Sandra Alex's writing style contains numerous moments infused with humor and sarcastic expressions that made me laugh out loud. Enter at Your Own Risk is the second book in the Ford Brothers series, and chapter by chapter I became more and more hooked on the series. I can't wait to see where the other Ford brother's stories will go. 4 Stars!

Goodreads Synopsis: I have a terrible crush on my next door neighbor. When too many guests at my house leaves me short a bed, he offers to let me crash at his place. I didn’t expect him to walk in on me… *ahem,* taking care of myself. And I certainly didn’t expect him to join in. A short and sweet standalone with a happy ending and lots of spice. Neighborly Love by Lindsay Murray | Goodreads Thank you to Lindsay Murray and BookSirens for providing me with an ebook copy of Neighborly Love for me to read and review. This was a bit of a whirlwind! The spice was getting really good and then bam the story was over. I loved what I read and the chemistry and steam was excellent, but I wanted so much more. I was left feeling like the story and the character's relationship was just getting going and then it was all of a sudden done. I feel like it could be fleshed out more and added on to so that readers could connect more to the character's situations. 3 Stars! Goodreads Synopsis: A harmless prank turns into a multi-year game of Truth or Dare... Red It was just a prank. We texted Tilly from my sister's phone and she confessed her crush. I didn't expect it to be me. And I really didn't expect to start noticing her after that. Tilly Just as I've left for college and started to get over my one-sided crush on Red, he starts drawing me. I have no idea why, or what it means... but it's making it really hard to get over him. A short and sweet novella at 14k words, this is a stand-alone romance with just a hint of spice, plenty of tension, and a happily ever after. Truth or Dare by Lindsay Murray | Goodreads Thank you to Lindsay Murray and BookSirens for providing me with an ebook copy of Truth or Dare for me to read and review. This a very sweet, unique romantic novella. I loved the slight bully romance trope it had going on with the unique truth or dare aspect to the story present through most of it. I loved the dynamic between the 2 main characters and I was instantly intrigued and invested in their story right from the start. I do wish that I could have read more details about their lives and even seen where their story went after. Definitely recommend for a short and sweet romantic 'sugar rush'. 4 Stars! The Lucky One by Jessica Payne | Goodreads Thank you to Jessica Payne, Bookouture, and NetGalley for providing me with an ebook copy of The Lucky One for me to read and review. This dual point of view psychological thriller had me gripped from page one. This is Payne's second novel, and after reading her debut, Make Me Disappear, she immediately became a must read author for me and The Lucky One only increased that feeling. I couldn't devour this story fast enough! I loved the strong female that was portrayed as the main character. She had so much strength and is so inspiring in how much she has had to overcome in her life. The unsaid thoughts of the main character amplified the suspense and fear to a whole new level and had me second guessing the innocence of every single character. My mind was completely twisting and turning, not knowing who could be trusted. And holy cow, I was completely caught off guard by the ending. This is definitely a must read for all thriller readers! 5 Stars! Unexpected Days is book 2 of the Eternal Port Valley Trilogy but each can be read as a standalone. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/58886146-unexpected-days Thank you to Shannon O'Connor for providing me with an ebook copy of Unexpected Days for me to read and review. This is the second book in the Eternal Port Valley series and is also able to be read as a standalone novel, however reading the first book added to my immersion into the plot. I enjoyed the first book in the series and this one was even better! I felt immediately connected to the hardworking female main character and was rooting for her throughout the book. The main character's from book one were seamlessly included in this story, and it was great to be able to see the progression of their relationship in the background of the story. I loved that this story was fast paced and I couldn't read it fast enough. There were a number of spelling and wording errors, which disrupted my reading at times, but didn't significantly impact the story. The ending left me hopeful and eager to read the next book to see where these character's lives will take them. 4 Stars! Goodreads Synopsis: A charity romance & poetry anthology with stories, poetry & prose from over 35 authors. All proceeds from the sale of Girls Just Wanna Have Fundamental Rights will be donated to AbortionFunds.Org which works with members to remove financial and logistical barriers to abortion access by centering people who have abortions and organizing at the intersections of racial, economic, and reproductive justice. Girls Just Wanna Have Fundamental Rights by Shannon O'Connor | Goodreads Thank you to Shannon O'Connor for providing me with an ebook copy of Unexpected Endings for me to read and review. This short story is part of a larger collection, Girls Just Wanna Have Fundamental Rights: A Charity Anthology, that is a collection of stories and poetry from over 35 authors donating all the proceeds to abortionfunds.org. This was definitely a tearjerker, but also great story of love and loss. Seeing as this was meant to be a short story, I enjoyed how concise and fast moving the story was, but a part of me wishes to read more about Jenna and Oliver. A bit more background on the main characters and their lives outside of this situation would have deepened the story for me. Definitely an excellent cause, a good read, and one I will be recommending. 3 Stars! Goodreads Synopsis: The first letter arrived the day my husband was buried. It was postmarked from the state penitentiary, and contained a single sentence: I’ll wait forever if I have to. It was signed by Dante, a man I didn’t know. Out of simple curiosity, I wrote back to ask him what exactly he was waiting for. His reply? You. I told the mystery man he had the wrong girl. He said he didn’t. I said we’d never met, but he said I was wrong. We went back and forth, exchanging letters every week that grew increasingly more intimate. Then one day, the letters stopped. When I found out why, it was already too late. Dante was at my doorstep. And nothing on earth could have prepared me for what happened next. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ WARNING: This novel contains content intended for a mature audience only. (Full list of TWs on author's website.) Pen Pal by J.T. Geissinger | Goodreads Holy Moly! I was not prepared for J.T. Geissinger's newest novel, Pen Pal. This story took so many twists and turns and complete 180s that my head is still spinning from trying to process it all. The plot was truly addictive! I did not want to put this book down and I flew through it in less than 3 days. The character depth and development was excellent. The steamy scenes at times had content and kinks that might not be for everyone, but ultimately were so, so hot. The small hints and revelations as you read continuously add to your confusion and suspicions. I did anticipate a number of aspects that were revealed in the end, but the overall way that all the pieces fit together in the end I could not have predicted. 5 Stars! |
