Goodreads Synopsis: Former tennis player Easton Bradbury is trying to be the best teacher she can be, trying to reach her bored students and trying to forget her past. What brought her to this stage in her life isn’t important. She can’t let it be. But now one parent-teacher meeting may be her undoing… Meeting Tyler Marek for the first time makes it easy for Easton to see why his son is having trouble in school. The man knows how to manage businesses and wealth, not a teenage boy. Or a young teacher, for that matter, though he tries to. And yet…there is something about him that draws Easton in—a hint of vulnerability, a flash of attraction, a spark that might burn. Wanting him is taboo. Needing him is undeniable. And his long-awaited touch will weaken Easton’s resolve—and reveal what should stay hidden… Misconduct by Penelope Douglas | Goodreads Great story with lots of spice and many ups and downs. The story line kept me intrigued and I couldn't read it fast enough. The sex scenes were very well written and full of hot content, which I definitely enjoyed, but I also appreciate that the sexual aspects of the storyline did not take over the entire plot of the book. There were a couple of grammatical/wording errors in the ebook version and they dampened the flow of my reading, but they were so intermittent that they did not strongly affect my overall appreciation for the story. Douglas did an excellent job developing the characters, in particular the individual struggles and challenges they each faced. Definitely a book I will recommend for any readers who love the romance or smut genres. 4 Stars!

Goodreads Synopsis: Two people. Ten chances. One unforgettable love story. Laurie is pretty sure love at first sight doesn't exist anywhere but the movies. But then, through a misted-up bus window one snowy December day, she sees a man who she knows instantly is the one. Their eyes meet, there's a moment of pure magic... and then her bus drives away. Certain they're fated to find each other again, Laurie spends a year scanning every bus stop and cafe in London for him. But she doesn't find him, not when it matters anyway. Instead they "reunite" at a Christmas party, when her best friend Sarah giddily introduces her new boyfriend to Laurie. It's Jack, the man from the bus. It would be. What follows for Laurie, Sarah and Jack is ten years of friendship, heartbreak, missed opportunities, roads not taken, and destinies reconsidered. One Day in December is a joyous, heartwarming and immensely moving love story to escape into and a reminder that fate takes inexplicable turns along the route to happiness. One Day in December by Josie Silver | Goodreads What a charming story that took me on a roller coaster of emotions. The characters were relatable, unique, and interesting. Typically I like books written from multiple points of view and this one was no different. I enjoyed seeing the interactions and individual storylines of the 3 main characters from each of their perspectives, but at times I felt a bit of whiplash from jumping from perspective to perspective so quickly and suddenly. I also loved the way Silver wrapped up the story without giving us too many "after" details which lets us as readers speculate about where the characters lives could have gone afterwards. 4 Stars! Goodreads Synopsis: Their first hit single. His first betrayal. And two women that make Randy question everything he’s ever wanted. Randy Jackson loves his life. He’s got a beautiful, hard-working celebrity wife, and a rising musical career as the lead guitarist in a band that just signed their first record deal. He has a great dog, and the best relationships with his band members, namely his stepbrother, who is the lead vocalist. Little clues pass by him that things aren’t quite as hunky-dorey as they may seem, but Randy’s rose-colored glasses currently blind him. Darrell Tanner loves her job as a video editor for the music industry. She’s met all types of musicians that adorn the face of MTV, but none ever appreciate her hard work until the boys from Brave Face appear. Darrell is suddenly treated like royalty, and she basks in the accoutrements in a dream-like state, forgetting about her second-class boss who spends more time on vacation than he does in the office. But one day she realizes that she’s taken things too far, and it’s too late to do anything about it. Can she walk away and leave the best thing that’s ever happened to her? Randy’s wake-up call comes like a bat out of hell, and when he least expects it. The only thing that has kept his focus in such a tumultuous industry is the one thing that he’s about to lose for good, and the worst part is, he has to be the one to walk away from it. Until someone he least expects breaks his fall, and everyone else sees it coming, including Randy…but is he too jaded to do anything about it? A beautiful love story about survival in a tough industry that labels and points fingers in all directions at undeserving people, and the lies that they tell to get ahead under the spotlight. This is a rock star romance that underscores the betrayal that exists in Hollywood, and how stars either sink or swim through it, just like the rest of the world does. First Cut contains course language and graphic sex, so please be forewarned. This book, like all others in this series, is a standalone, and can be enjoyed in any sequence. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/59352926-first-cut?ref=bk_bet_in Thank you to Sandra Alex for providing me with an ebook copy of First Cut for me to review. What an interesting, fast paced story. I loved the plot and unique characters. There were a small number of grammatical and wording errors that I noticed while reading including the wrong name used at one point, however they weren't frequent enough to detract from the story. The one thing I disliked was the use of man or dude when speaking to the female main character. It happened constantly and it rubbed me the wrong way every single time. Still, the quick pace of the story and the romance that you want to root for kept me wanting to find out what would happen next. 4 Stars! |
