Goodreads Synopsis: The viral video. The two-faced usurper with a crippling agenda. And the silver-tongued stalker with a surprisingly big heart. My brother Bryn razzes me about it. And once my other brothers find out, they do it, too. But it can’t be helped. I find myself sitting at the bottom of Bryn’s driveway almost every day since she moved in. This beautiful woman has no idea who I am, until I run into her in the grocery store, and she waits for me at the exit. I’m a dead man. And then I find out that she knows everything about me and more. It’s a slap in the face. I am a fool. I should have known. What’s worse, Kinsley is nobody to mess with. And I’m not just talking about her attitude, either. As if my old neighborhood wasn’t bad enough, I have a feeling my new neighborhood isn’t much better. It’s been a few weeks, and already the red flags are up. When I see my neighbor’s brother in the checkout line at the grocery store, his eyes nearly pop out of his head. I’ll play this card. I think of every conceivable threat I can, but the writing is on the wall, and Dale is not afraid. Either he’s an idiot or his ego is so big I’m surprised he can fit in his three-ton truck. A double date with my best friend Lexi tells the tale, and I find myself holding up my end of a stupid bet with him that changes my life. …turns out all bets are off. This is book seven in the Ford Brothers series and I was not disappointed! I love that each brother is getting their own story and yet the other brothers and their stories are still present in each of the following books. As usual I love the personalities that Alex writes for her characters and the growth that they show throughout the story. I do wish this one was a little bit longer as there was at least two plot areas that I felt could have been explored and I wished I knew what happened or how something went. Maybe I'll get those answers in one of the next books. Another dislike for me, which may be my own personal preference, was the continued use of the word man when characters are speaking to or referring to the female characters of the story. This writing choice appears in a number of Alex's books; it rubs me the wrong way and throws off my reading flow when it happens. Overall, it was a good, quick read and I'm excited to see where things will go in the next book. 3 Stars!

Goodreads Synopsis: Brooks Huntley is the last guy on earth I should ask to take my virginity. He's a decade older than me. Lethally hot. And so far out of my league it's not even funny. The biggest downside to my plan, though? Brooks is my older brother's best friend. I see Brooks every day when I deliver muffins to his office. With his swaggering confidence and sexy smirk, it's no wonder I've always had a crush on him. But I'm not looking to cause any trouble—at first. I just want to give my V-card a long-overdue swipe. Too bad I have no game when it comes to picking up guys—but Brooks is a master at charming the pants off women. While Brooks himself is off-limits, who better to study for tips on how to get laid? When he offers me a weekend away at a five-star resort as thanks for satisfying his sweet tooth, I say yes—with the caveat that he comes too. That way I can watch him in action. He counters with a caveat of his own: he'll come, but my brother can never find out. On our secret getaway, I do my best to learn from Brooks and take someone new home. But I fail so miserably that Brooks steps in and kisses me "to show me how it should be done." And can I tell y'all, I just melted. Now can I convince him to show me how everything should be done? The Troublemaker (Sex & Bonds #2) by Jessica Peterson | Goodreads Thank you to Jessica Peterson and Valentine PR for providing me with an ebook advanced copy of The Troublemaker for me to read and review. What an entertaining story! I was instantly interested in seeing what would happen and I was so addicted to seeing these characters find happiness that I flew through this book in a day and a half. I absolutely love the empowering message shown through the main characters transition and growth into the strong powerful woman that she truly is and the wonderful, positive way the male main character supported and encouraged her! It was very inspiring! I cannot wait to read more from Peterson! 5 Stars! Goodreads Synopsis: Promising Young Woman meets High Fidelity in the dark and twisty new thriller from the bestselling author of The Sunday Girl, The Strangers We Know and The Paris Affair. A bad day at work. A drunken night. A rogue Instagram follow. That’s all it takes to ruin a life … The question is, whose life will be ruined? When Billie wakes up in a strange guy’s bed, her first thought is: what happened last night? She can't even remember meeting him. And how the hell did she get to Coney Island? Then reality bites and the memories flood in – the reason she was in that bar, drinking to start with: today she's going to get fired. Because yesterday her law firm lost a big case: Samuel Grange v Jane Delaney. And it looked like it was her fault. It wasn't. Yet now Samuel Grange is free to drive off into the sunset in his stupid Porsche and do it all again to another woman. And all Billie can think is: What about the next girl? And the one after that? But there is nothing she can do to stop him. Unless ... She could expose the truth about him on her own. Then everyone would see what he was really like. And he wouldn't be able to do it again. The problem is, the only way to protect the next girl is to become the next girl. And, well, that could be a little risky ... even deadly. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/61991830-the-next-girl Thank you to Pip Drysdale, Simon & Schuster Canada, and NetGalley for providing me with an ebook copy of The Next Girl for me to read and review. Wow! What a wild, addictive plot. I was immediately sucked into the story and I did not want to put it down! There were a couple of twists that I anticipated, but numerous others that I did not see coming! The gradual introduction to the main character and her backstory was excellently done to keep readers on the edge of their seats craving the next tidbit that will be learned. Definitely a must read for all lovers of fast paced, suspense-filled thrillers. 5 Stars! |
