Taking what she offered would destroy his teaching career, moreover, it went against everything he believed in, but he’d never wanted anything more. When he finds out she’s homeless, he offers her a place to stay. They end up living together, and things get even more out of hand. Can he resist her? Or will he risk it all and give in to temptation? https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/198971918-teacher-s-pet Thank you to R.K. Lilley and Grey's Promotions for providing me with an ebook copy of Teacher's Pet for me to read and review. This is definitely a controversial trope for me to read, but whew the spice level was hot, hot, hot! The undeniable tension between the characters was written with so much detail and really brought the situation to life. This is the first book I have read by Lilley, but I will definitely be reading more! 4 Stars!

Whew! What a story! I was hooked on the characters and plot from the very first chapter and needed a few days to process after I finished reading! The character development and the twists and turns keeping readers on their toes and second guessing what they thought they knew was masterfully done! This was the first book I have read by Freida McFadden and her writing has definitely lived up to the hype and I will for sure be reading more of her work. Highly recommend this twisty, suspense filled read. 5 Stars! Goodreads Synopsis: My grandmother has a saying: what's done in the dark always comes to light, especially in small towns with big secrets. And I was hiding the biggest secret of them all. Every summer I spent growing up at my grandparents' coastal estate was the same. Same cousins. Same chaos. Same long golf cart rides along the beach. But everything changed the summer I turned eighteen, when my grandparents' new housekeeper moved in with her son, Riley. With his big personality and head-turning looks, he was the local heartthrob. We fell in love instantly. Riley was my first everything. First love. First time. And my first heartbreak when he dumped me at the end of the summer. Ten years later, I'm back on the island for my best friend's wedding as her maid of honor. Who's the first person I literally stumble into? Riley Dixon. Even worse? He's the groom's best man. Being forced to spend an entire week together for wedding festivities quickly leads to more: hot hate sex, late nights of sneaking out, and unexpected revelations. The boy I knew a decade ago is gone, and the hate becomes...something else entirely. And I begin to wonder if Riley is hiding some secrets of his own. I Wish I Knew Then (Harbor Village #1) by Jessica Peterson | Goodreads Thank you to Jessica Peterson and Valentine PR for providing me with an ebook copy of I Wish I Knew Then for me to read and review. This was such a great read! It unexpectedly hit very close to home with how similar my romantic circumstances are to how the female main character starts out the story. To be honest just how similarly it mirrored my own situation made me a bit apprehensive about how the story would affect me emotionally, but I did not need to worry! Peterson turned this character's life around in the best way possible and made me hopeful for my own future. And it doesn't hurt that the spice was volcanic! I can't wait to keep reading this series and learn more about the other characters! 4 Stars! |
