Goodreads Synopsis: KATE I tore out of rehab to win my husband back. It’ll work, too. He just needs to see that I’m clean, that I’m on my feet again. Until that happens, though, I’ve got only got one guy in my corner—Beck, my husband’s best friend, who takes me in against his will and keeps me sane. Living with Beck is easier than I expected. And fun . Except I’ve got a long history of wanting things I’m not supposed to want. And Beck may be the most dangerous of them all. BECK Kate had nowhere else to go—helping her out is the right thing to do. Though if she thinks the fact that she’s still married to my best friend means she’s safe walking around my house in nothing but a t-shirt…well, I’m somewhat less sure. Because maybe Caleb could overlook her. Maybe Caleb could fail to notice her. But from the moment we met, Kate’s been the only thing I could see. And no matter what she’s telling herself, she wants me just as badly as I want her. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/204426921-the-summer-you-found-me Thank you to Elizabeth O'Roark and Valentine PR for providing me with an ebook copy of The Summer You Found Me for me to read and review. I absolutely loved revisiting some of the characters from the previous book and learning more about them. O'Roark does an excellent job of portraying their unique personalities and struggles. There was great character development shown as they overcome the challenges and hardships of their pasts. The story drew me in right from the start and the plot kept me intrigued all the way through. This is definitely one that I will be recommending! 4 Stars! Goodreads Synopsis: A smoking hot standalone romance in the small-town Harbour Village series, featuring a single dad, a nanny, and an accidental pregnancy... I know Tuck Monroe is trouble the second I walk in to interview for the nanny position. Six-four and covered in tattoos, he’s distractingly hot. He’s also grumpy as hell. But I need to pay for school, so I take a job as his daughter’s live-in caretaker and move into the apartment above his garage. I fall hard for Katie, his adorable four-year-old. But I never expected to fall for my new boss, who’s a decade older than I am. Turns out there’s a heart of gold beneath Tuck’s broody exterior, one I work to reveal bit by bit. Casual small talk leads to late-night conversations I can’t get enough of. No surprise our simmering sexual tension explodes with one deep, toe-curling kiss. He tells me I’m his good girl; I tell him I love the praise. We give ourselves one night, and one night only, to explore the fiery attraction between us. It’s the best sex of my life. But when I wake up, Tuck is gone, and life goes back to normal. Or at least I think it does, until I start to feel nauseous. Turns out I was right: my boss is trouble. The kind that comes with one night I can’t forget and two pink lines that will change our lives forever. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/199287915-i-wish-you-were-mine Thank you to Jessica Peterson and Valentine PR for providing me with an ebook copy of I Wish You Were Mine for me to read and review. What an addictive story! This book is filled with relatable characters, intriguing plot lines, beautiful relationships and fiery chemistry. The characters drew me in right from the start and my emotions went along with them on the peaks and valleys in the story. Definitely one that I will be recommending! Can't wait to see where the series will go next! 5 Stars! Goodreads Synopsis: Daisy sobbed as she pointed at the picture of my darling son. “It was him,” she cried out distraught. “He was the one who attacked me.” Today all my worst fears came true. I thought I had escaped the dark secrets of my teenage years. But when my son is accused by one of my students of a crime I know only too well, my past comes hurtling into my present. Surely my beloved son Bryson, my kind and caring boy, who I raised to be nothing like the men of my past, couldn’t be mixed up with – or worse, be – what they are describing. Could he ? But when Daisy comes to me in the classroom with tears in her eyes, trusting me with her confession, I vow that she won’t suffer the same fate I did. But what can I do? I love my son. I need to believe him no matter what. As I struggle to know who to believe, the threats begin. Notes on my car, messages saying you will pay for what happened. Just like last time. Only this time I don’t know if I’ll get out of it alive… https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/184146658-the-teacher Thank you to Danielle Stewart, Bookouture, and NetGalley for providing me with an ebook copy of The Teacher for me to read and review. This was a roller coaster of a story and I didn't know which way it was going to turn next. As a teacher reading this book, some of the parallels between my style as a teacher and the main character's style made this story that much more unsettling. Stewart did an amazing job of creating suspense and anticipation as well as writing some excellent unexpected twists. The backstory provided for the main character made me as a reader feel so much compassion and empathy for the main character and really showed the amazing growth she has already gone through and highlighted the growth during the story and made it that much more impressive that she is able to overcome so much. Stewart is definitely an author I would read again! 4 Stars! Goodreads Synopsis: She’s a pariah with a killer past. After Dark by Minka Kent | Goodreads Thank you to Minka Kent, Thomas & Mercer, and NetGalley for providing me with an ebook copy of After Dark for me to read and review. What a twisty, dark, compelling read. After Dark was filled with so many unique and interesting details that kept the reader guessing and actually led the reader down some misleading avenues all the way through most of the book. I definitely fell for some of those red herrings hook, line, and sinker at least in the beginning. The conclusion of the story definitely was unexpected in ways, but once you got part way through the book, certain parts became a bit predictable. It was still very enjoyable since even the parts that I managed to predict played out in unexpected ways. I definitely recommend After Dark to all thriller readers! 4 Stars! What an intriguing start to what I hope will prove to be a long running detective mystery series! The main character immediately spoke to me with her authentic, real-life struggles, and no-nonsense attitude. I can't wait to hopefully read more about her. The main character's detective partner was also a gem of a character with a traumatic backstory and a sassy sense of humour. The plot was full of twists and turns and puzzle pieces that didn't quite seem to fit and drew me in as a reader constantly questioning what had truly happened and who was really the "bad guy". I cannot wait to read more by L'Etoile. 4 Stars! Goodreads Synopsis: A sparkling adversaries-to-lovers romcom set at a magazine publisher in Manhattan. What an amazing debut novel! It was the perfect combination of sugar and spice all mixed with a heaping helping of drama and past trauma. I've always been a fan of the workplace romance trope but the added hate to love twist made Love Interest an addictive unputdownable read! The incredible character growth was written so well with just the right amount of tension and tears and I can't wait to read what Gilmore writes next! 5 Stars! |
