Goodreads Synopsis: Can you fall in love with someone that you’ve never actually met? When Hudson Shaw—lead singer of the world’s most popular boy band—spilled coffee on me in Starbucks, I didn’t expect him to actually remember me later. But he did… Which was a problem since he started at my school three days later. And even though I’m the only person in school who isn’t a fan of him, he picked me to be his guide. Why does the universe hate me? He’s convinced I’m going to warm up to him—maybe even fall in love with him—but I’m sure that’s never going to happen. After all, why would I care at all about Hudson when my sights are already set on someone else? Someone sweet, funny, and caring… who I’ve never actually Bay. I met Bay when I was accidentally added to a group chat, but nothing between us has been accidental since. With every conversation we have, I feel like I’m falling for him a little more. But can you really fall in love with someone that you’ve never met in real life? And if I do meet in him in person… will I like who he really is? CELEBRITIES DON’T DATE BOOKWORMS is a standalone novel, perfect for fans of wholesome romances and boy band fanfiction. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/147761755-celebrities-don-t-date-bookworms Thank you to Clara Nielsen and BookSirens for providing me with an ebook copy of Celebrities Don't Date Bookworms for me to read and review. This was a short, sweet romance with a unique interesting plot including a virtual love. The storyline following the characters relationship through technology compared to in real life was interesting to see how personalities can shine completely differently when the visual element is taken out of the picture. I would have liked to read a bit more about the side characters and their roles to have been a bit larger, but overall a good young adult romance. 4 Stars!

Goodreads Synopsis: A relatable and nerve-wracking, sympathetic and bone-chilling story — a fresh new twist on motherhood and murder in suburbia. Isolated. Lonely. Tired. It's hard being The New Mother. Sometimes it's murder. Nothing is simple about being a new mom alone in a new house, especially when your baby is collicky. Natalie Fanning loves her son unconditionally, but being a mother was not all she wanted to be. Enter Paul, the neighbor. Paul provides the lifeline she needs in what feels like the most desperate of times. When Paul is helping with Oliver, calmed by his reassuring, steady presence, Nat feels like she can finally rest. But Paul wants something in return. It’s no coincidence that he has befriended Nat—she is the perfect pawn for his own plan. Will Nat wake up in time to see it? https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/61885084-the-new-mother Thank you to Nora Murphy, St. Martin's Press-Minotaur Books, and NetGalley for providing me with an ebook copy of The New Mother for me to read and review. This was a very raw, challenging story of a new mother's experience which was interesting but I didn't find the writing to be very compelling. I have enjoyed Murphy's other books, so I was surprised to find this one didn't grab me and I found it a much slower read than I anticipated. I figured out the twist early on and felt that the story took a long time to get to the "good parts". The main character's actions to clear her name were interestingly written and that part did catch my attention. Overall, I felt this book was good but not great. 3 Stars! |
