My Double Life by Angela Pearse | Goodreads Thank you to Angela Pearse and Book Sirens for providing me with an ebook copy of My Double Life for me to read and review. It was a truly wonderful read with many laugh-out-loud moments. I loved the fact that this was a true Rom-Com through and through but the characters all had such unique secrets that kept me on my toes the whole time I was reading. Once I was sucked into the story, I did not want to put it down and definitely read way too late into the night. The growth and development of the main character was excellently portrayed and inspiring. Definitely one I will be recommending. 5 Stars!

What a great magical read! I thoroughly enjoyed having this book transport me back to my youth into the wonderous, captivating magical world of this story. I loved that it had a bit of everything. Romance, betrayal, tragedy, action, fantasy and family. The characters were written with excellent depth and interesting traits and challenges. I was also caught off guard in the best way with the unique and insightful ending. Definitely one that I will be recommending. 5 Stars! Goodreads Synopsis: Staying is dangerous. Leaving could be worse. Leah and McKenna have never met, though they have parallel lives. They don’t—ever—find themselves in the same train carriage or meet accidentally at the gym or the coffee shop. They don’t—ever—discuss their problems and find common ground. Because Leah understands that what’s inside a home can be more dangerous than what’s outside. Driving past McKenna’s house one night, she sees what she knows only too well herself from her own marriage: McKenna’s “perfect” husband is not what he seems. She decides to keep an eye out for McKenna, until one night, she intervenes. Leah and McKenna have never met. But they will. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/57689197-the-favor?ref=bk_bet_in ***Spoiler Alert*** Thank you to Nora Murphy, St. Martin's Press, and NetGalley for providing me with an ebook advanced reader copy of The Favor for me to read and review. What a great read! This novel made me think back to the film Horrible Bosses, but with domestic abuse at its core rather than toxic work environments. I thought the author did an excellent job portraying the abusive relationships in a honest, enlightening, and raw yet respectful way. I loved the way the role reversal took place. However, I did see quite a few things coming long before they happened and I would have liked some unexpected twists and turns. I enjoyed the way Murphy wrapped up the story and it left me wondering what might happen next. 4 Stars! |
