Lilley and Grey's Promotions for providing me with an ebook copy of Teacher's Pet for me to read and review. This is definitely a controversial trope for me to read, but whew the spice level was hot, hot, hot! The undeniable tension between the characters was written with so much detail and really brought the situation to life. This is the first book I have read by Lilley, but I will definitely be reading more! 4 Stars!

Whew! What a story! I was hooked on the characters and plot from the very first chapter and needed a few days to process after I finished reading! The character development and the twists and turns keeping readers on their toes and second guessing what they thought they knew was masterfully done! Goodreads Synopsis: My grandmother has a saying: what's done in the dark always comes to light, especially in small towns with big secrets. And I was hiding the biggest secret of them all. Every summer I spent growing up at my grandparents' coastal estate was the same. Same cousins. Same chaos. Same long golf cart rides along the beach. But everything changed the summer I turned eighteen, when my grandparents' new housekeeper moved in with her son, Riley. With his big personality and head-turning looks, he was the local heartthrob. We fell in love instantly. Riley was my first everything. First love. First time. And my first heartbreak when he dumped me at the end of the summer. Ten years later, I'm back on the island for my best friend's wedding as her maid of honor. Who's the first person I literally stumble into? Riley Dixon. Even worse? He's the groom's best man. Being forced to spend an entire week together for wedding festivities quickly leads to more: hot hate sex, late nights of sneaking out, and unexpected revelations. The boy I knew a decade ago is gone, and the hate becomes...something else entirely. And I begin to wonder if Riley is hiding some secrets of his own. I Wish I Knew Then (Harbor Village #1) by Jessica Peterson | Goodreads Thank you to Jessica Peterson and Valentine PR for providing me with an ebook copy of I Wish I Knew Then for me to read and review. This was such a great read! It unexpectedly hit very close to home with how similar my romantic circumstances are to how the female main character starts out the story. To be honest just how similarly it mirrored my own situation made me a bit apprehensive about how the story would affect me emotionally, but I did not need to worry! Peterson turned this character's life around in the best way possible and made me hopeful for my own future. And it doesn't hurt that the spice was volcanic! I can't wait to keep reading this series and learn more about the other characters! 4 Stars! Goodreads Synopsis: She created a game-changing nuclear weapon. What a great story! This story kept me on my toes! It is filled with action, suspense, mystery, romance, and some spice. This was a new to me author with a writing and plot style that really reminded me of Kat Martin and I loved every page! The character personalities were written excellently with the character development and growth being so closely tied to the plot. This was one of those books I was just itching to pick back up in the moments I wasn't able to be reading. I can't wait to go back and read the other books in the series as well as Macallan's other previous books! Definitely recommend for anyone looking for a fast paced romantic, suspenseful adventure. 5 Stars! The Summer I Saved You (The Summer Series, #2) by Elizabeth O'Roark | Goodreads Thank you to Elizabeth O'Roark for providing me with an ebook copy of The Summer I Saved You for me to read and review. What a great story! Once I got to know the characters, I did not want to put this one down! It is filled with great banter, character development and growth, and excellent spice! I loved the inclusion of a neuro-divergent character and the excellent way that was tied into the story! Definitely one that I will be recommending. 4 Stars! Goodreads Synopsis: An ice queen. A billionaire. A bribe turned to hell. And a date that leads Griffin into the wrong arms…at just the right moment. We’re smack dab in the middle of the biggest land development deal we’ve ever had. We’ll see then what Yolanda’s true colors are. *** Griffin is just like every other man. He wants me just to fulfill some locker room bet between him and his brothers. I will always be hurt because of something that I did for survival. So when Griffin proves me wrong, you will understand why I must send him away. Because I know that deep down it will never work. Until I am given a grave scare and in that same breath a miracle swoops in and shows me how blind I have been. I am a fool. But will I also be a lonely fool? Only an encounter with the devil can show me if that is true. But it could all come tumbling down, anyway, because of another Ford brother, who has broken a cardinal rule. Will this family ever know peace? Will I? Only time will tell… HEA (Happily Ever After) Billionaire romance Medical romance Military romance Medium heat Coarse language Mild cliffhanger ending https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/150203126-danger-do-not-cross Thank you to Sandra Alex for providing me with an ebook copy of Danger Do Not Cross for me to read and review. This review is going to be short and sweet because I feel like a say the same things in all my reviews of Alex's books. She is definitely a dependable writer that I never worry whether or not I will enjoy her next book, and Danger Do Not Cross is no exception. I loved the dynamic between the 2 main characters and the internal struggles shown for each of them along with the growth they went through to overcome those personal struggles. My only wishes are for more of these 2 characters as I didn't want the story to end, and even though the slow burn was excellently done, I did wish for more spicy content for these 2 characters. As always, the cliffhanger has me itching to read the next book and I can't wait to read where the series will go next! 4 Stars! Goodreads Synopsis: An enemies-to-lovers, fake relationship romantic comedy. The Happy Haven Trailer Park is not where I hoped to be at age twenty-five. Circumstances have left me without a job or a car in a small town where work is scarce. When my insufferable neighbor approaches me with a very indecent proposal to co-star in his videos on the Lonely Hands app, I have to resist the impulse to punch him in the mouth. I'll admit, Monroe is hot with his dark eyes and quick grin, but he's the most infuriating man I've ever met. After weeks of no luck finding a new job, I finally accept his offer with one condition. Nobody can know what we're doing. Now, I'm stuck faking a relationship to hide the real reason that I'm spending so many nights at the home of a man I despise. It's going to be a long summer. Can be read as a standalone romance. Fake Around and Find Out by S.M. Shade | Goodreads Thank you to S.M. Shade and Wordsmith Publicity for providing me with an ebook copy of Fake Around and Find Out for me to read and review. This was such a page turner filled with humor, spice, and romance! I absolutely loved the snarky, hilarious relationship between the 2 main characters. I laughed out loud so many times while reading. The chemistry was also off the charts which balanced the comedy of the story beautifully. Shade wrote her characters personalities beautifully including excellent growth and development. Can't wait to read the next in the series! 5 Stars! |
